Reference help for existing drafts from the retired Tradie Forms NSW CCEW

The old Tradie Forms NSW Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) is retired. This guide remains only so you can read field labels on an existing saved draft. It is not a fill guide for new work.

Tradie Forms does not currently provide the new CCEW or direct BCNSW eCert lodgement. From 1 July 2026, complete and submit every CCEW directly through the BCNSW eCert portal. An old Tradie Forms draft cannot be downloaded as a valid CCEW or lodged through Tradie Forms.

Before you start

Pull these details from the legacy draft or the original job file before you open eCert. Do not invent missing values.

  • Customer contact and address

Customer name, email, phone and address. Email matters because eCert can send the customer their copy.

  • Installation and network

Site address, NMI, meter number, installation type, work carried out and network service provider.

  • Equipment and meters

Equipment categories worked on with ratings and quantities, plus meter install or removal rows and load figures where they apply.

  • Installer and tester

Names, licence or qualified supervisor numbers, expiry dates and addresses for the person who installed and the person who tested.

  • Test date and results

The actual test date and the safety tests completed on site, with measured values from calibrated equipment.

  • eCert reference details

Any serial or job reference you still need for the current eCert process, checked against BCNSW prompts rather than the old draft helper.

Legacy draft sections

These pages explain fields stored in the retired draft. They do not document the current BCNSW eCert screens.

Customer

Owner or client name, contact details and customer address.

Installation

Site address, NMI, work types, special conditions and network provider.

Equipment

Load and equipment categories installed or changed on the job.

Meters

Meter install and removal rows, tariff, readings and load assessment.

Installer

Installer contact, licence or supervisor details and address.

Tester

Person who performed testing, including same-as-installer copy.

Test report

Test date and the electrical safety tests recorded on the draft.

Certification

Legacy serial field and how declaration maps to eCert submission.

Review an existing draft

Tradie Forms validation on the retired draft expected:

  • Required customer, installation, installer, tester, and certification fields filled and valid
  • At least one installation type and one work carried out option
  • Installer licence or qualified supervisor details present
  • A test date and the test items that apply to the work
  • Meter details when your work selections require them

Check the saved details against the original job and test records. A complete Tradie Forms draft is not a submitted CCEW and is not a substitute for the current BCNSW record.

Complete in BCNSW eCert

There is no valid CCEW download from Tradie Forms. Finish the job in the BCNSW eCert portal.

  1. Complete the electrical test and resolve any failed or unusual result
  2. Review the customer, installation, work, licence and test details in the legacy draft or job file
  3. Open the BCNSW eCert portal and create the CCEW
  4. Enter the checked details using the current eCert fields and prompts
  5. Review the declaration, submit the certificate, and save the eCert confirmation with the job
  6. Check that the required parties received their copy

NSW Government guidance says the person who carries out the electrical test must submit the CCEW as soon as practical and no later than seven days after the test. eCert can automatically provide copies to the distributor where required, the customer when their email is included, and the electrician's employer or principal contractor when their email is included.

Practical checks

  • Do not use an old PDF or downloaded draft as proof of lodgement
  • Match circuit, equipment and meter details to what is on site
  • Use the real tester and installer details, including current licence information
  • Keep field test records and the eCert confirmation under the same job reference
  • If information is missing, finish it from the source record before submitting in eCert
