# Battery Storage Commissioning Record (/docs/form-guides/electrical/national/national-battery-storage-commissioning)

The **Battery Storage Commissioning Record** keeps the battery, location assessment, commissioning checks, tests, customer handover, and signatures in one PDF.

This is a Tradie Forms designed record. It records the installer's assessment. It does not validate compliance, replace an electrical compliance certificate, or replace network or rebate paperwork.

[Open the Battery Storage Commissioning Record](/forms/national-battery-storage-commissioning) when the system is ready for final testing.

## Before you start [#before-you-start]

* Have the battery and inverter make, model, serial, capacity, and instructions ready.
* Confirm the assessed location class, clearances, barriers, ventilation, isolation, and signage.
* List the circuits supplied during an outage, if backup is configured.
* Have the system ready for charge, discharge, backup, monitoring, and shutdown testing.

<span id="installer" />

## Installer [#installer]

Add the business and installer details shown at the top of the record. Business and installer names are required. Add the ABN, electrical licence, accreditation number, and phone where they identify the installer.

The optional logo appears at the top right of the PDF. Save this section on Solo or Team to prefill it next time.

<span id="site" />

## Client and Site [#client-and-site]

Enter the client and commissioning date. Add a contact and job reference, then search the **Site Address** to fill the address, suburb, state, and postcode together.

<span id="system" />

## System [#system]

* Record the battery make, model, serial, and usable capacity.
* Choose **Integrated**, **Separate hybrid inverter**, or **AC-coupled to existing solar**.
* Add the inverter make and model when it is separate from the battery.
* Record the exact install location and the location class you assessed.
* List the backup circuits when backup is configured.

The location field records your decision. The app does not judge whether that location complies.

<span id="checklist" />

## Commissioning Checklist [#commissioning-checklist]

Answer all 10 checks with **Yes**, **No**, or **N/A**.

* Use **Yes** when the item was completed and verified.
* Use **No** when the item was not met. Add a short note.
* Use **N/A** only where the item does not apply, such as grid settings on an off-grid system or backup testing where no backup is fitted.

For manufacturer-specific ventilation treatment, record the result and note the basis used.

<span id="readings" />

## Tests and Readings [#tests-and-readings]

Record the charge and discharge test result, grid voltage at the inverter, and state of charge at handover.

Keep the test result concrete. For example, state the charge reached and whether the nominated backup circuits operated correctly.

<span id="handover" />

## Handover [#handover]

Tick the documents and instructions provided. Confirm whether the customer was briefed and add notes for anything that needs follow-up.

The checklist covers manuals and warranty documents, shutdown, monitoring, backup behaviour, and fire emergency information.

<span id="declaration" />

## Declaration and Signatures [#declaration-and-signatures]

Add the installer name, date, and signature. These are required before download.

The customer name and signature are optional. Capture the signature on site, or send the PDF with a share link for later signing.

<span id="final-check" />

## Before download [#before-download]

* Check the battery, inverter, serial, capacity, location, and backup details.
* Answer all 10 checks and add a note for every No.
* Confirm the charge test, grid voltage, and state of charge are clear.
* Check the handover answers match what the customer received.
* Add the installer name, date, and signature.
* Preview the finished PDF.

<span id="after-download" />

## After download [#after-download]

Give the PDF to the customer and keep a copy with the job, warranty records, network or scheme paperwork, and the electrical compliance certificate required where the work was done.
